Job Requirements
- Education: Four-year degree in project management field or related experience.
- 5 years working in/with software development with 2-year as scrum master or similar role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment leveraging continuous integration and test driven development and on a team responsible for delivering multiple projects.
- Understanding of agile development, and basic fundamentals of iterative development, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
- Strong understanding of the basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
- Experience reporting and creating dashboard that allows outside stakeholders to gain visibility into project progress and status.
- Experience planning with engineering teams and organizing work in agile environments.
- Understands the importance of commitments to delivery and milestones made by the development team.
- Understands Scrum, Kanban, backlog tracking, velocity, acceptance criteria, and task definition.
- Understanding of the roles of teams outside of engineering that are involved in releasing software and the value and responsibilities of each of these teams.
- Works across teams outside of engineering, such as product ownership, business analysts, creative, quality assurance, security, and/or project management to find solutions and answers to any issues that engineering encounters.
- Assertive in making sure that proper processes and principles are being followed and that the correct people and teams are being involved in decision making and solutions.
- Facilitates constructive discussions around blockers and risks, working to resolve conflicts and find alternate solutions to challenges.
- Facilitates transparency of engineering work, growing trust between delivery partners, product owners and stakeholders.
- Assists in resource and project planning by reporting on current engineering availability, active tasks, and sprint velocity.
- Manages work and project responsibilities by assigning tasks to internal individuals and external teams.
- Promotes individual responsibility internally and externally by overseeing the lifecycle of assigned tasks while allowing teams and individuals to work under their own processes.
- Experience with Atlassian tools, such as JIRA, Confluence.
Job Description
- Serve as subject matter expert on the Scrum framework and coach the team on agile best practices and values.
- Working with product owners and stakeholders to break down business requirements into epics, stories, tasks.
- Interfacing with teams involved in the development and delivery of software, including software engineers and architects, creative, business analysts, product owners, quality assurance testers, and project managers.
- Report up and out on the status of tasks, stories, and milestones.
- Raise awareness of risks and work with the necessary parties to resolve blockers.
- Remove distractions from engineering by resolving impediments and any outside issues that may block the ability to develop code.
- Act as the “go to” resource for the engineering team, providing clarity on tasks, gathering missing assets or requirements, and handling project changes.
- Work with engineering team to create project timelines with deliverable milestones.
- Interface with product owners to prioritize tasks for the engineering team.
- Document and record meetings, discussions, and stand ups.
- Helps ensure acceptance criteria and requirements have been met on stories and epics. #INDHP
