Everest Evolution™, part of the Everest Group, is looking for a talented and driven Underwriter or Senior Underwriter to join our team and help grow our Wholesale Excess Casualty portfolio. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our underwriting strategy—balancing smart risk decisions with business growth, and delivering exceptional service every step of the way. You’ll collaborate closely with brokers and internal teams to develop thoughtful insurance solutions for complex risks, all while contributing to a supportive, innovative, and team-oriented environment. Location: This role is available in our Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, or San Francisco office. Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Underwrite and manage a profitable book of Wholesale Excess Casualty business. Execute strategic initiatives focused on risk management, portfolio optimization, and operational efficiency. Build strong relationships with brokers and clients through thoughtful communication and in-person meetings. Collaborate with internal teams—claims, actuarial, loss control, legal—to develop tailored solutions. Leverage technology to streamline underwriting processes and improve efficiency. Contribute to business planning, performance metrics, and continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications: Bachelor's college degree with 3 years of experience in insurance, with a strong background in Wholesale Excess Casualty. Proven ability to underwrite complex risks and deliver profitable results. Strong understanding of various program structures, including guaranteed cost, large deductibles, and captive programs. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (3 days in-office, 2 days remote). CPCU, ARM, CRIS or other designations are a plus. The base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $108,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
