The Accounting Analyst I, Ceded Reinsurance will be responsible for assisting with the accurate Ceded processing, accounting, and analysis of our ceded reinsurance portfolio. This position reports to the Manager, Ceded Reinsurance Accounting (North America) and is a hybrid role based in Warren, New Jersey (3 days in office, 2 remote). Responsibilities include but not limited to: Timely preparation of ceded accounts, bordereau production and recording of ceded payable and recoverable amounts. Collection and settlement of outstanding balances due to/from the company. Reconciliation and analysis of related accounts to the general ledger. Review reinsurance contracts and facultative certificate terms (Quota Share, Excess of Loss, Automatic Facultative, aggregates, retentions, inuring coverages, exclusions, adjustable features, etc.). Contact with claims and underwriting staff on related issues. Coordination with outside departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Maintain positive relationships with all reinsurance partners and appropriately represent the Company. Assist in maintaining Letters of Credit. Assist in additional projects as assigned. Qualifications, Education & Experience: The successful candidate should have a BS/BA degree in accounting, finance or business. One (1) to Two (2) years of finance/accounting experience. PC skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables & VLOOKUPS). Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and be able to multitask in a dynamic environment. Strong Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy. Self-starter; capable of working both independently and within a team environment. Strong Interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. High degree of flexibility and responsiveness to change in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. What if I don't meet every requirement?
