Job Title: Associate Vegetation Management Specialist (P1)
Duration: 12 months contract
Location: Wilsonville, OR (hybrid)
Pay Range: $27 – $30.06 per hour
The Associate Vegetation Management Specialist (P1) supports vegetation clearance activities by coordinating work assignments, facilitating communication between customers, contractors, and internal teams, and assisting with documentation, reporting, and data analysis. The role contributes to program effectiveness through strong collaboration, high-volume customer interaction, and cross-functional support across Forestry, Landscape Services, and Business Support groups.
Position Responsibilities
- Coordinate vegetation clearance activities, including scheduling work assignments, dispatching contract crews based on manager direction, and assigning work to vendors, Landscape Specialists, and Foresters.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, contractors, and internal teams to support clear communication, timely issue resolution, and alignment across stakeholders.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and written correspondence, providing accurate program details and maintaining thorough documentation; manage regular, high-volume phone activity with limited downtime.
- Review and process vegetation management documentation to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely routing of required information.
- Collaborate with contractors by offering guidance and oversight to promote safe, efficient, and effective vegetation clearance operations.
- Coordinate and communicate with peers across Forestry, Landscape Services, and Business Support to sustain a collaborative environment grounded in shared goals and mutual support.
- Analyze vegetation data, document findings, and prepare reports to support program evaluation, improvement efforts, and informed decision-making.
- Identify and support the implementation of process or workflow enhancements to strengthen program performance.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, environmental science, natural resources, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in vegetation management, utility operations, or related regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and vegetation management best practices; experience overseeing contractor operations is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret vegetation data and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, customer management systems, and data tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, empathetic customer service approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and customer inquiries while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for staff meetings or field job shadows.
Must-Have:
- Minimum two years of vegetation management or related utility/regulatory experience
- Strong communication skills for high-volume customer interaction
- Ability to coordinate vegetation clearance activities and manage detailed documentation
