SUMMARY: SHIFT AVAILABLE 7:30AM TO 3:30PM.
The Housekeeper is responsible to keep the facility clean, safe in accordance with current federal and state standards and comfortable manner.

The Housekeeper is responsible to keep the facility clean, safe in accordance with current federal and state standards and comfortable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Assure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
- Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
- Clean floors, to include sweeping, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting in accordance with proper safety precautions.
- Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces using proper cleaning/ disinfecting solutions.
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers in accordance with established sanitation procedures and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.
- Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping procedures.
- Use protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids.
- Perform complete cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged or transferred to another room.
- Follow established safety precautions when perfuming tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
- Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the housekeeping supervisor.
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights.
- Follow established fire, disaster, and evacuation policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping and the Administrator.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Long term care experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
- Required to sit, stand, bend and walk regularly; lift and/or move up to 100
- Visual and auditory ability enough for written and verbal communication.
