- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with families to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services
- Oversee classroom management duties such as maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to safety standards
- Support professional development by mentoring assistant teachers and participating in ongoing training related to childhood development and childcare best practices
- Conduct assessments of children’s progress using standardized testing methods and document developmental milestones
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting, preferably with toddlers
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including special education and early intervention strategies
- Proven ability to develop engaging curricula that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional growth
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, colleagues, and children
- Classroom management expertise to create a positive learning environment while maintaining discipline and safety standards
- Familiarity with Montessori methods and other educational philosophies suited for toddler care
- Ability to plan lessons aligned with educational standards and adapt activities based on individual child needs
