Los Angeles, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/2/2026

Position Summary

The Site Operations & Facility Manager is the day-to-day operational leader for a high-traffic, technology-forward multimedia art park facility. This role ensures the site opens, runs, and closes safely and smoothly—every day—while delivering a consistent, welcoming visitor experience. The manager is hands-on, highly organized, and comfortable supervising cross-functional teams in a live environment where exhibits, guests, and programming activity intersect. The ideal candidate has strong familiarity with building maintenance, security, technology, and live events, thrives under pressure, and is a practical problem-solver who can lead with calm authority during peak hours and special programs.

Key Responsibilities

Daily operations & leadership

  • Lead daily open/operate/close procedures and ensure readiness of the entire facility (front-of-house, exhibit zones, event spaces, back-of-house). First to arrive, last to leave.
  • Supervise and coordinate all onsite team members during shifts; assign duties, manage breaks, and ensure coverage across zones.
  • Maintain visible floor leadership: proactively identify issues, support staff, and intervene when guest experience or safety is impacted.
  • Maintain staffing schedules and shift rotations with management, support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance coaching.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of mail and deliveries on site.

Technology-aware operations

  • Learn and understand how each major exhibit system works at a functional level (power, basic signal flow, reboots, safety interlocks, show modes).
  • Serve as the first-line triage for operational/technical issues: reset systems, coordinate quick fixes, and escalate to Technical/AV staff as needed.
  • Maintain operational logs (incidents, maintenance needs, downtime, work orders, vendor follow-ups) and communicate recurring issues to leadership.

Guest experience & event readiness

  • Uphold a high standard of visitor service, accessibility awareness, and guest flow management across diverse audiences.
  • Support tours, school/group visits, VIP visits, and press moments by aligning staffing and on-the-ground execution.
  • Coordinate with Programming and Events teams to prepare spaces and staffing for rentals/special events; manage overtime needs.

Safety, facilities, and compliance

  • Enforce onsite rules, crowd management practices, and emergency procedures; respond appropriately to incidents.
  • Ensure walkways, entries/exits, restrooms, and public areas are maintained to cleanliness and safety standards; coordinate with cleaning/security vendors as applicable.
  • Oversee basic facility checks: lighting, HVAC comfort, doors/locks, signage, queue equipment, and back-of-house organization.
  • Identify risks and implement practical solutions in real time (spill response, equipment hazards, crowd density, heat/cold, public nuisances, etc.).

Communication & stakeholder management

  • Provide clear shift handoffs and daily reports to leadership.
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, partners, clients, and community stakeholders onsite.
  • Maintain bilingual English/Spanish communication with staff and guests; translate operational needs quickly and accurately.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • 3 years in venue operations, visitor attractions, museums, events, live entertainment, experiential installations, or similar.
  • 1 years supervising staff in a public-facing environment.
  • Comfort working around technology (A/V systems, interactive exhibits, show control basics); ability to troubleshoot calmly.
  • Demonstrates strong situational awareness and security astuteness in public-facing environments, with experience engaging respectfully and effectively with unhoused and vulnerable populations.
  • Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime during special events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in interactive/multimedia environments (projection, LED, sensors, media servers, audio reinforcement).
  • Strong understanding of security needs, systems, and protocols.
  • Familiarity with incident reporting, visitor services standards, and crowd management.
  • Prior experience supporting events (rentals, live programs, corporate/community events).

Core Competencies

  • Operational ownership and attention to detail
  • Calm, solutions-first leadership under pressure
  • Strong communication and team direction
  • Customer service excellence and conflict de-escalation
  • Technical curiosity and troubleshooting mindset
  • Reliability and strong follow-through

Physical / Work Conditions

  • Standing/walking for extended periods; frequent lifting (up to 50lbs with assistance).
  • Indoor/outdoor movement depending on site; exposure to sound/light elements common in multimedia environments.
  • High public interaction; fast-paced peak periods.

What Success Looks Like

  • Facility operates reliably with minimal downtime and well-documented issues.
  • Staff feel supported, trained, and clear on expectations.
  • Guests report high satisfaction and smooth flow even during peak periods.
  • Events run smoothly with strong coordination and disciplined shift leadership.
