Production Technician

Events By Design
Milwaukee, WI Part Time
POSTED ON 6/24/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 12/19/2026

Events By Design is a full‑service event production company turning visions into unforgettable experiences. From AV, lighting, and décor to staging and fabrication, we bring complex events to life with precision and creativity—and it all starts with a skilled production team.

Our Core Production Technicians are the architects of the event environment. Unlike our elective-schedule pool, you are a foundational member of our team. You aren’t just "filling a shift" - you are taking ownership of the gear, the shop, and the flawless execution of our high-end designs from concept to strike.

This role is for the professional who values a consistent team dynamic, deep familiarity with our inventory, and the opportunity to lead on-site. You will work directly with our Management and Design teams to ensure every event is a masterpiece.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, pull, quality-check, and maintain production equipment for events
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently while ensuring equipment is properly secured
  • Assist with and lead event installations, including audio, video, lighting, staging, décor, scenic elements, and custom event environments
  • Operate live events, including audio consoles, video systems, livestreaming equipment, lighting control systems, and related production technology
  • Support power distribution, signal flow, and production infrastructure while following all safety standards
  • Perform scenic finishing work, including vinyl application, touch-ups, furniture repair, painting, and minor fabrication as needed
  • Maintain warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, equipment maintenance, and quality control standards
  • Provide guidance and support to part-time event staff during load-ins, event execution, and strikes
  • Interact professionally with clients, venue staff, vendors, and team members while representing Events By Design
  • Follow direction from Project Managers, Team Leads, and Production Leadership while taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
  • Support multiple Events By Design brands and event types as needed
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and OSHA standards

Who You Are

  • An experienced event production professional with strong technical knowledge in one or more disciplines, including audio, video, lighting, scenic production, or fabrication
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical challenges under pressure and adapting quickly to changing event needs
  • Physically able to lift and move equipment weighing 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working nights, weekends, and flexible hours based on event schedules
  • A team player who communicates professionally and contributes to a positive, high-performance culture
  • Committed to delivering a polished, "white glove" client experience where both technical execution and event aesthetics matter
  • Excited to continue learning, growing, and expanding your production skillset

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued:

  • Professional audio systems, digital consoles, wireless microphone systems, and signal routing

  • Power distribution and electrical safety practices
  • Vinyl application, scenic finishing, painting, furniture repair, and event décor installation
  • Woodworking, fabrication, and proficiency with power tools

Schedule & Expectations

  • Part-Time position based in our Milwaukee warehouse and event venues
  • Regular daytime warehouse hours with required availability for nights, weekends, and extended event schedules
