Role Description This contract Audio Visual Technician role is an on-site position based in San Diego, CA. The technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and striking audio visual equipment for meetings, conferences, and live events, including sound systems, projectors, lighting, and video conferencing tools. Daily tasks include performing equipment checks, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating with event organizers, and ensuring that all AV components function smoothly throughout each event. The role also involves configuring video conferencing systems, managing cable runs and equipment layout, and maintaining an organized inventory of AV gear. The technician is expected to follow safety standards, provide clear communication to clients and team members, and deliver professional, timely support before, during, and after events.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency with Audio Visual (AV) Systems and related event equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively under time constraints.
- Experience configuring and supporting Video Conferencing platforms and hardware.
- Hands-on skills with Lighting setups and controls for events.
- Practical experience installing and operating Projectors and display systems.
- Working knowledge of signal flow, basic networking for AV, and cable management best practices.
- Ability to lift and move AV equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in event-driven schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a customer-focused and professional demeanor.
- Prior experience in event production, corporate meetings, or live entertainment environments preferred.
