Position Summary:
The Regional Security Manager - West is responsible for overseeing, executing, and continuously improving the physical and industrial security program across assigned facilities in the western United States. This role ensures alignment with Client Global Security Directives and compliance with key regulatory and industry frameworks, including U.S. Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP), and ISO/IEC 27001 standards.
The Regional Security Manager conducts risk assessments, drives corrective action plans, delivers security-related training, and supports the design and deployment of physical security infrastructure. This role evaluates site-level security readiness, leads investigations, supports workplace violence prevention initiatives, and maintains strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external law enforcement partners. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and serves as the primary physical security point of contact for the assigned area of responsibility.

- Total sites 16-20; 2-3 CTPAT Sites (1 – FTZ)

Primary Security Responsibilities
Security Program Management:
- Assess, implement, and oversee physical security plans that prevent unauthorized access, protect infrastructure and sensitive information, and safeguard manufacturing and distribution operations.
- Manage and assess compliance with government regulations, company security policies, and global security standards across multiple facilities.
- Evaluate existing security controls, identifying improvements and recommend solutions to mitigate risks to people, operations, and assets.
Assessment & Compliance:
- Conduct periodic facility reviews and audits to verify adherence to established policies and practices, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure proper monitoring and administration of CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, and visitor management systems in alignment with regulatory and industry best practices.
- Analyze assessment results, interpret findings, implement corrective actions, and provide updates to site and regional leadership.
Security Systems & Technology:
- Participate in the engineering design, installation, and operational support of security system projects.
- Maintain strong internal and vendor relationships to ensure effective system performance and lifecycle management.
- Assess contract security personnel performance and provide recommendations to enhance service delivery and reduce risk.
Training & Awareness:
- Deliver formal and informal security training, including workplace violence prevention, threat reporting, suspicious activity recognition, and active intruder response.
- Lead table‑top and live exercises to improve facility preparedness.
- Provide collateral training on sensitive information protection and industrial security awareness where needed.
Incident Management & Investigations:
- Coordinate and manage security incidents in coordination with local site security coordinators and functional partners.
- Conduct investigations related to theft, workplace violence concerns, and other security-related risks and vulnerabilities.
- Complete incident investigations and reports for HR and leadership, in accordance with industry best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:
- Serve as a point of contact for physical security matters across the region.
- Partner with HR, Facilities, Safety, and other site functions to strengthen local security practices.
- Coach and support Site Security Coordinators in interpreting and applying global standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with local site stakeholders and functional partners.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Working knowledge of CTPAT physical security standards.
- Lead or support site, cluster, country, or enterprise‑level security initiatives to enhance security culture and posture.
- Prioritize and manage competing security needs through risk‑based decision‑making and compensatory measures.
- Monitor and evaluate guard force operations in accordance with KPIs, where applicable.
- Travel up to 30% to provide hands‑on support is needed to assigned facilities.
- CPP is preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Familiarity with basic office safety protocols; prior training preferred.
- Experience in department-level leadership, including scheduling, training, and conflict resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor in interactions with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on prioritizing tasks in fast-paced environments.
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends and be on-call.
- Working knowledge of CTPAT best practices as outlined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
- Strong leadership, customer service and de-escalation skills.
