Position Overview
The Sales Support Specialist plays a key role in supporting the sales team by managing administrative tasks, coordinating customer communications, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This role bridges the gap between sales representatives, customers, and internal departments to help drive efficiency, accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction. Working in this role offers the opportunity to interface with numerous brands in the Outdoor Industry, as well as other consumer and professional channels. The position is based in Kansas City at our North American Headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Western Sales Team (North America and Europe).
- Help maintain CRM systems, ensuring accurate entry of leads, opportunities, and client information.
- Coordinate with internal teams (i.e. customer service/operations/marketing) to ensure timely delivery of products/services.
- Respond to customer inquiries, provide product/service information, and resolve basic issues promptly.
- Assist in the preparation of sales presentations, reports, and forecasts.
- Track and monitor order processing, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up.
- Support onboarding of new clients and facilitate smooth handover from sales to account management.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to provide insights for sales strategies.
- Help organize sales meetings, events, and training sessions.
- Maintain strong communication channels between customers and the sales team to enhance satisfaction and retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (preferred but not always required).
- Previous experience in sales support, customer service, or related role.
- Familiarity with brands and activities integral to the Outdoor Industry and related markets.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency or willingness to engage with Salesforce/CRM tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a fast-paced environment, but also to operate independently and autonomously when needed.
