JOB SUMMARY
The X-Ray Tech/Medical Assistant will take quality x-rays for limited body parts, operate radiology equipment, position patients, perform quality diagnostic radiographs, observe safety and security protocols, and perform medical assistant duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provided below are the key duties of the job. However, other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Provides general care and education to patients regarding x-rays
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety
- Perform tasks including record-keeping and maintaining supply inventory
- Performs proper x-ray duties as requested by provider
- Ensures equipment is in working order, and reports equipment malfunctions to the Practice Manager
- Perform any other tasks to maintain a smooth flow of the clinic such as medical assistance
- Perform medical assistant procedures including triage, take vital signs, prepare the patient for the Provider to connect with in the examination room, intake initial medical history or review past medical history listed in the patients’ chart
- Perform basic CLIA waived rapid lab tests, EKGs, and administering IM injections when necessary/ordered
- Apply splints, dressings and bandages when ordered
- Maintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Active BXMO certification or Registered Technologist (ARRT) certification for the State of FL required
- CPR/BLS certification
- Experience with EMR platforms
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Medical Assistance training or experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Bilingual highly preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Urgent Care Procedures
- Pediatric experience highly recommended
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to understand, navigate and learn company’s EMR as well as experience with MS Windows, Microsoft Office 360
- Ability to make sound judgments with patient safety as a top priority
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

- Available to work weekdays and weekend shifts
