Role Scope

As a Layout Technician, you support EVCO’s quality and manufacturing teams by programming and running CMM inspections that confirm molded components meet print requirements and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities include:
- Program and operate Zeiss CMMs using Calypso to execute layouts and first article inspections
- Interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T to build accurate inspection plans
- Analyze measurement results, document findings, and communicate issues for timely resolution
- Assist with capability and measurement studies (e.g., GR&R/CPK) and maintain organized inspection records

Required qualifications/skills:
- 3 years of Calypso programming experience; Zeiss CMM experience
- Strong blueprint reading, tolerancing, and GD&T knowledge
- Proficiency in Excel; attention to detail in reporting

If you’re ready to apply your metrology expertise in an onsite, full-time role in Oshkosh, WI, we encourage you to apply.

A Typical Shift

You’ll start by reviewing the day’s inspection priorities and any new or revised prints, then set up the CMM area and verify calibration status before running programs. As results come in, you’ll compare trends to prior runs, flag anything that looks out of family, and compile clear, audit-ready reports for engineering and quality review. Between runs, you’ll coordinate with teammates on measurement questions, update files and naming conventions to keep data traceable, and make small program refinements so the next inspection cycle runs smoothly. The day closes with organized documentation and a clean handoff of open items for the next shift.

EVCO Plastics offers a benefits package designed to support your health, financial goals, and time away from work, including Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; a Health Savings Account (HSA); Life Insurance; a 401(k) plan; Paid Time Off; and a Competitive Salary.
