What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Control Supervisor position at Evapco?
Evapco, Inc., an employee-owned company, is currently seeking a Production Control Supervisor at our Madera, CA, manufacturing site. The Production Controls Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive work atmosphere while directing and organizing the daily work of the team members they are assigned. They are directly responsible for their department’s productivity, efficiency, quality/workmanship, and safety/well-being of the members of their team. They call and facilitate meetings, accurately complete assigned administrative duties and work details, train their personnel, orchestrate department activities, and write and perform performance reviews. Areas of responsibility include CNC / Laser Programmers, Min- Max Coordinator, Production Clerk, and Training Coordinator.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring the high-side production runs are accurate for Evapco Madera prior to release to production. This includes using the correct master unit sheet and production order generator, the correct bills of materials are used, the correct prints are pulled, with the correct material selected for each print, the correct quantities are on the prints, with the correct box size, section name, routing, master schedule week, letter run, and color code listed on the print.
- Responsible for ensuring that production job folders are accurate for each production department. These job folders are listed by job number/year in the master schedule run order. These job folders have all the documents that are used to produce the production run for that job. These documents include, but are not limited to, order write-ups, submittals, change orders, e-mails, updated bills of materials, custom engineering, and production prints. This includes adding or deleting any revised or additional prints added after the job folder was completed due to change orders.
- Responsible for keeping the production runs for Madera on the timeline and upkeep/communication of Madera's timeline. Ongoing communication with other department heads outside of the production control department to acquire information and communicate through the proper channels.
- Responsible for keeping the production programming team for Madera on the timeline.
- Responsible for the continuous training and upkeep of existing documentation and the creation of new documentation pertaining to production control processes and procedures.
- Responsible for the balancing of available Laser Programming, NC Nesting, and VMC programming to support eco-air and high-side products.
- Responsible for maintaining the Min-Max area on the schedule to the timeline.
- Responsible for approving Purchase Request forms for the Production Clerk and reviewing with the Maintenance Manager for proper account coding.
- Responsible for providing the production team with all documents required in the department inspection process. Documentation to include, but not limited to, Mechanic Checklist, Production Orders, General Arrangement Drawings, and Coil Traveler F-37-QA
- Responsible for writing non-conformities and closing out non-conformities written on all reporting areas in a timely manner. Areas include - CNC / VMC / Laser Programmers, Min- Max Coordinator, Production Clerk, Training Coordinator.
- Responsible for communicating with the Production Manager and supervisors regarding training needs and mapping out development plans for specific department machinery, tasks, and individuals.
- Works within SharePoint, Pilot, and PowerBi to enter and analyze data utilized to improve Quality and Production programs.
- Creates Production reports for weekly and monthly reporting on corporate SharePoint sites.
- Responsible for managing sheet utilization as it pertains to programming to yield optimal scrap percentages.
- Actively works with Corporate Production Controls to strategize, implement, and sustain facility-wide initiatives
- Program for Laser/CNC as needed in the event regular team members are absent.
- May perform other duties when assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience:
- Minimum of a 2-year associate degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related field. (required)
- Demonstrate analytical, critical, and creative thinking
- Solid computer knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Pilot, and PowerBi (required)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (required)
- Proficient typing skills and the use of a ten-key.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience preferred in Production Control or related field. (preferred)
- Understanding of applicable California Labor Laws
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and supply chain management.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) (preferred)
