| Position Details: | This position works 188 days per year, 8 hours per day. This is a grant funded position through March 2028. |

SUMMARY:
The Attendance Case Manager works with students, their families and support persons, group homes and service providers to overcome barriers that relate to attendance impacting student success through enforcing the attendance policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
- Demonstrate cultural competence in understanding of and responsiveness to diverse cultures and backgrounds to fully serve students and families.
- Meet with new enrollees and parents/guardians to discuss the impact of attendance on graduation.
- Discuss and record possible barriers to attendance that need to be addressed.
- Collaborate with social worker, principal, and attendance clerk to monitor student attendance and interventions.
- Monitor student attendance to ensure compliance with the school’s attendance policy.
- Organize attendance data and interventions on a weekly basis.
- Share intervention results with administrators during weekly check-in.
- Coordinate support through school counselors for students with chronic absenteeism.
- Conduct home visits for chronically absent students.
- Conduct attendance pre-court conferences.
- Contact parents/guardians/support persons regarding student attendance as well as provide training to parents on school policy and how students earn credits.
- Identify, implement, and monitor opportunities and programs to bolster parent/guardian participation in school life.
- Work with community partners to assist with various attendance interventions.
- Case manage at risk or high risk students and families.
- Provide crisis prevention and intervention services.
- Assess family needs to help determine the most appropriate service plan.
- Link families to resources and advocate to positively impact student success.
- Collaborate with EVSC Comprehensive Counseling Team to provide referrals to school and community resources.
- Support Site Councils at Full Service Community Schools.
- Serve as a liaison between schools, families and community partners.
- Maintain regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in the area of social work, education or related field required. Experience with working with students preferred. Proficient in Microsoft and Google programs required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, school board members, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to prepare, project, monitor and document funds from multiple sources.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
