Director of Learning

Type: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Chief Workforce & Education Officer
Role Overview
The Director of Learning leads the strategy, design, and delivery of all training and onboarding for our software platform. This role owns how schools, educators, and partners learn to use the platform effectively and how adoption scales statewide.
Serving as a core operational leader for the software, the Director of Learning works closely with the Director of Program Operations to ensure training, rollout, and platform development are tightly aligned. This role is the Executive Director’s right hand for learning strategy and implementation and will eventually oversee the broader training and curriculum function as the team grows.
This position requires deep understanding of how schools operate, why work-based learning is critical to Indiana’s future workforce, and how industry and education must partner to create real outcomes.
Scope of Work
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute the statewide learning and onboarding strategy for the software platform
- Design scalable training pathways for schools, educators, administrators, and partners
- Create and oversee all training content, including live sessions and recorded materials
- Deliver high-impact training sessions and presentations statewide
- Ensure training reflects best practices in adult learning and professional development
- Partner with Program Operations to align training with rollout timing and platform updates
- Serve as a thought partner to leadership on adoption strategy and continuous improvement
- Support the development of the training team over time
Key Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, or related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience leading training, onboarding, or learning initiatives at scale
- Strong understanding of K-12 education systems and how schools operate
- Experience designing and facilitating professional development for adults
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and curriculum design skills
- Ability to operate strategically while executing tactically
- Comfort building systems from the ground up in a fast-paced environment

- Training is consistent, engaging, and scalable statewide
- Adoption barriers are identified early and addressed effectively
- Learning strategy evolves alongside platform growth
