Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities, including games, outings, arts and crafts, music sessions, and special events that cater to residents’ interests and abilities
- Build strong rapport with residents through personalized interactions to enhance their emotional well-being and sense of community
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to ensure activities align with individual care plans and health considerations
- Manage resident participation by encouraging involvement while respecting their preferences and limitations
- Assist in organizing community events and resident celebrations that foster a lively atmosphere within the facility
- Maintain accurate records of activities conducted, resident participation levels, and feedback to continually improve program offerings
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and team members
- Ability to coordinate resident events while managing schedules efficiently using tools like Microsoft Office or similar software
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for older adults with diverse needs
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Ability to adapt activities for residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities while promoting safety and enjoyment
