Cloud Engineer

Location details: This role is hybrid 4 days/week at the Navy Software Factory in Riverdale, Maryland. 

Evans is seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to support the Department of Navy’s Software Factory operations in an Agile DevSecOps environment. This role will work design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure unclassified cloud environments are secure, scalable, and mission- aligned.

• Design and manage robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) services, including authentication, authorization, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Develop various cloud solutions including but not limited to Single Sign On (SSO) and Access Services for applications. 
• Work closely with platform teams and government stakeholders to support the deployment and maintenance of Forge product services within a secure DevSecOps framework.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security using cloud-native and third-party tools.
• Maintain services and tools supporting infrastructure as code and automation tools.      
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud-native application development.
• Optimize cloud costs and recommend improvements.
• Assist in the deployment and management of platform and forge product services in Kubernetes. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, IT Systems Infrastructure or a similar role.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one. Experience supporting infrastructure within classified environments (IL-4/IL-5) preferred.
• 5 years of experience with Azure Administration.
• Experience with deployment of infrastructure-as-code (IAC) tools.
• Experience with automation and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, and      Artifactory.
• Familiarity with migrating workloads from on-prem to cloud.
• Knowledge of Certified Kubernetes Administration is strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience maintaining production applications within cloud.
• Understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.

Compensation

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans’s total compensation package for employees.
