Qualifications:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cashier greets and serves customers, prepares product, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and handles customer transactions in compliance with company policy and federal/state laws. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interacts with our customer base, providing outstanding customer care
- Receives customer transactions, records sales, receives acceptable payment, suggests additional items to be purchased when applicable, thanks and invites the customer to return
- Handles customer concerns and is empowered to rectify such
- Stocks shelves, coolers and other areas with merchandise
- Follows company policies including liquor and tobacco laws
- Maintains floor area of store which includes cleaning, dusting, mopping and safety aspects
- Maintains a neat and clean personal appearance
- Maintains a positive attitude
- Other duties as assigned
PREREQUISITES
Education: High School graduate
Experience & Skills: Enjoys working with people. Understands and follows all company procedures. Possesses a strong work ethic and is highly dependable. Demonstrates above average customer service and a team player.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the store when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
