Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated LPN- Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the cleaning and maintenance operations within a long-term care facility. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in a long-term nursing facility, with a proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene, fostering a safe and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across all areas of the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, laundry, and administrative spaces.
- Lead, train, and motivate housekeeping staff to uphold cleanliness standards while adhering to safety regulations.
- Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure efficient coverage and timely completion of cleaning duties.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and industrial cleaning procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections to assess cleanliness levels, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Oversee laundry operations to ensure proper handling, sorting, and sanitation of linens and clothing.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and linens while managing procurement processes to optimize resources.
- Promote a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement in housekeeping standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising custodial or housekeeping teams within long-term care facilities.
- Extensive knowledge of cleaning techniques, industrial cleaning methods, and janitorial best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while fostering professional development.
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and infection control protocols.
- Experience managing laundry services in a healthcare or hospitality setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with staff members, management, residents’ families, and external vendors.
