Join our dynamic team as a Behavior Support Professional (RBT / BT / Paraprofessional) with an August 2026 start date! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based behavioral support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. Your energetic and positive approach will help foster meaningful progress in clients’ lives while working within a collaborative, supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference through applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management, and personalized care plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Behavioral Intervention: Implement and apply behavior plans and intervention strategies with fidelity as developed by the supervising Behavior Specialist.
  • Data Collection & Reporting: Monitor and accurately record student progress regarding educational performance and behavioral goals, reporting regularly to the supervising Behavior Specialist and teacher.
  • Instructional Support: Provide one-on-one and small group instruction, using established techniques to assist students in mastering academic and social skills.
  • Student Well-being: Attend to the physical and health needs of students, which may include assisting with mobility and daily living skills as trained.
  • Clerical & Supportive Duties: Perform a variety of clerical and supportive tasks related to classroom activities and management, such as preparing materials and organizing the learning environment.

Prerequisites & Desired Qualifications

  • Must meet the Highly Qualified requirement of No Child Left Behind:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent AND
  • An Associate of Arts degree or higher, OR
  • 48 or more college units, OR
  • A passing score on a test (e.g., CBEST, ParaPro, or CODESP).
  • Required Certification: Must possess and maintain current RBT certification.
  • Experience: One year of experience working with children of various age levels in a classroom setting is preferred. Experience attending to students with physical needs is also preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Possess and maintain a valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Willingness to complete at least 15 hours of additional training annually, including training as a mandated reporter of child abuse.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.

Physical Demands & Working Environment

This is a hands-on and physically active role. You must be able to:

  • Frequently (34-66%): Stretch and reach above shoulders, and lift 40-50 lbs. to waist height. Use specialized equipment like a Hoyer Lift to elevate up to 120 lbs. from floor to chest height.
  • Continuously (67-100%): Bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl, and kneel.
  • The work environment is primarily indoors in a specialized classroom, with exposure to occasional loud noises and a variety of adaptive equipment.
