What are the responsibilities and job description for the European Automotive Technician position at EuroService Automotive?
European Automotive Technician
Euroservice Automotive
Warrenton, VA
Monday–Friday (No Weekends)
8am - 6pm
$80,000 - $130,000 (Depending on Experience)
About Us:
At Euroservice Automotive, we believe great technicians deserve more than a steady paycheck. They deserve a shop where their experience is respected, their opinions matter, and they're trusted to do their work without someone constantly looking over their shoulder.
We've been serving the Warrenton community since 1997, building a reputation for quality European automotive service and long-term customer relationships. Our customers trust us with their vehicles because we take the time to do things properly, and we extend that same respect to the technicians doing the work.
We're a small, experienced team that believes in helping each other succeed. When a difficult diagnostic problem comes through the door, you're not expected to figure everything out alone. Our shop foreman and fellow technicians are available to work through challenges together. There's no yelling, finger-pointing, or embarrassing someone for asking a question. We believe mistakes should be opportunities to improve, and that honesty and accountability matter more than ego.
Every Wednesday, we sit down for a company-paid lunch where everyone has a chance to share ideas, discuss what's working, and suggest improvements. It's a simple tradition, but it reflects how we operate: everyone has a voice, and good ideas don't have to come from management.
If you're an experienced European automotive technician who takes pride in your craftsmanship, enjoys solving challenging problems, and wants a place where you can build a long-term career without sacrificing your personal life, we'd like to meet you.
Compensation & Benefits:
Annual Earning Potential: $80,000–$130,000, based on experience, skill level, and productivity.
Our technicians currently work on a progressive flat-rate structure that rewards productivity. We're also open to discussing a hybrid compensation arrangement for the right person.
We believe your compensation should reflect both your abilities and the quality of work you deliver.
Benefits Include:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance through UnitedHealthcare, with employer contributions of $500/month for individual coverage or $750/month for family coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan with up to a 4% company match.
- Paid time off: 5 days after 6 months, 10 days through 2 years, and 15 days after 2 years.
- Paid holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
- Company-paid lunch every Wednesday.
- Paid technical training and continuing education, including opportunities to attend industry events.
- ASE certification expenses covered and support for additional relevant certifications.
- Company-provided uniforms at no cost.
- Performance-based financial rewards tied to team goals.
- Team outings and activities throughout the year.
We also understand that life doesn't stop when you walk into work. Whether it's a family situation, an appointment, or simply taking a well-earned vacation, we believe people should have time for the things that matter outside the shop.
What We Do:
We specialize in European vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, MINI, Land Rover, and Jaguar.
You'll work in a heated and air-conditioned facility with five lifts, a dedicated alignment rack, and diagnostic equipment that allows you to approach challenging repairs with confidence.
Our equipment and technology include:
- Autel diagnostic systems
- Autologic
- BMW ISTA
- VAG-COM
- PicoScope
- Additional European diagnostic platforms
- Shop-Ware management software and digital vehicle inspections
Our workload includes a healthy mix of diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and maintenance. You'll have opportunities to handle everything from drivability and electrical concerns to timing components, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and more involved repairs.
You won't spend every day doing the same repetitive work, and you won't be pushed to rush through a complicated diagnosis just to move another vehicle through the bay.
We believe a vehicle should leave the shop fixed correctly, not simply fixed quickly.
Our leadership style is hands-off but supportive. You'll be given clear expectations, the tools to do your job, and the independence to work without unnecessary micromanagement. When you need another perspective on a difficult problem, you'll have experienced people to turn to.
Continued Education and Growth:
European vehicles continue to evolve, and we believe even the most experienced technicians benefit from continuing education.
That's why we invest in ongoing technical training rather than expecting technicians to figure out new systems entirely on their own.
We regularly attend BIMRS/Eurotrain and STX training events, often closing the shop so the team can participate together. We also provide access to virtual training resources and support relevant local training opportunities.
Our technicians complete at least 32 hours of continuing education annually.
Whether you're strengthening your electrical diagnostic skills, getting more comfortable with emerging European technology, or building on years of experience, we want you to keep developing your abilities and be compensated accordingly.
What You Bring:
We're looking for an experienced technician who is confident working independently, takes ownership of their repairs, and understands the importance of doing quality work.
You don't need to know everything, but you should have the experience to handle most repairs and maintenance without constant assistance and the judgment to recognize when a second opinion would be helpful.
Experience and skills we're looking for:
- Strong experience servicing and repairing European vehicles, ideally BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, MINI, Land Rover, or Jaguar.
- Ability to independently diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical concerns.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing, wiring diagrams, sensors, actuators, and vehicle communication networks.
- Confidence interpreting scan data, using bidirectional controls, and developing logical diagnostic strategies.
- Experience diagnosing drivability concerns and intermittent or complex problems.
- Strong mechanical abilities involving brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, engine components, timing systems, and driveline repairs.
- Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing attention to detail or quality.
- A positive, professional attitude and willingness to both share knowledge and learn from others.
Experience in a European dealership or independent repair shop is welcome. We're more interested in what you know, how you approach problems, and the pride you take in your work than where you gained your experience.
ASE certifications are appreciated but not required. We recognize that many excellent European technicians have developed their expertise through manufacturer training and hands-on experience.
Interested?
After nearly three decades in business, we've learned that a great shop isn't built on equipment or numbers alone. It's built on technicians who care about their work, customers who trust them, and a team that respects each other.
At Euroservice Automotive, you'll have the opportunity to work on vehicles you enjoy, continue developing your skills, earn a competitive income, and still have your evenings and weekends to yourself.
If you're looking for a professional, well-equipped European repair shop where quality matters and your experience will be valued, we'd enjoy having a conversation with you.
