EuropTec USA, LLC is a U.S. glass fabricator with a 75-year history of supplying fabricated glass and specialty items to the appliance market. We were previously known under the names of Marsco Manufacturing and Engineered Glass Products. With the recent acquisition by Glas Trösch Group, we now have the resources to significantly grow both domestically and overseas. Glas Trösch Group is a family-owned glass company based in Switzerland with $2BN in revenue and 6000 employees worldwide. With two manufacturing facilities and a warehouse in the Bridgeport and Canaryville (Back of the Yards Industrial Stockyards) neighborhoods of Chicago, we provide a wide variety of products for the appliance (oven doors and microwave ovens) and lighting markets. We are now poised to leverage our relationship with Glas Trösch to enter the U.S. rail market by providing glass and frame assemblies.

The Buyer/Sourcing Specialist will lead all aspects of procurement and sourcing in coordination with other departments.

Core Objectives

• Buyer
• Sources, evaluates, and purchases goods and services to meet company requirements.
• Prepares and issues Request for Quotes (RFQs), ensuring they include technical, quality, contractual, and schedule requirements.
• Manages orders and coordinates with management for orders exceeding approved purchase values.
• Ensures compliance with internal and governmental regulations through documentation.
• Identifies and selects suppliers.
• Conducts cost, price, and technical analyses to select suppliers according to organizational policies and government regulations
• Strategic Sourcing
• Analyzes business requirements and develops and executes sourcing strategies and initiatives for both products and services.
• Aids management with sourcing and supply chain activities including budget analysis.
• Handles supplier selection and relationship management, negotiates contracts and pricing, and ensures compliance to the contracting and procurement standards.
• Work with quality and engineering to test the performance of new materials, parts, components and tooling.
• Requirements
• Must have either a Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common legal documents (e.g. buying agreements, sourcing agreements, etc.)
• Must be able to effectively analyze cost savings in relation to products and services
• Must be able to search for and identify alternate suppliers and work with other departments to test competing and alternate products in an effort to secure cost savings
• Must be able to communicate well with all levels of management

• Negotiation experience on large commodity contracts
