The holder of this position will be responsible for the development of new cell lines to support product development and client-driven custom projects.
Here's What You'll Do
- Perform cloning and characterization of engineered cell lines using appropriate molecular and cell biology techniques, which may include flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, EFC or other functional readouts.
- Design and perform required experiments to optimize and validate diverse cell-based assays intended for sale in our product portfolio or as custom projects for clients with minimal guidance from supervisor to move projects forward.
- Compile data, analyze and write first draft of client reports and prepare client-facing presentations.
- Perform proof-of-concept experiments to validate application of new molecular technologies to the Eurofins DiscoverX platform.
- Perform testing of cell-based assays using Eurofins DiscoverX technology platforms with client molecules and record results in company database.
- Prepare and present experimental data at group laboratory meetings.
- Work diligently to meet product development goals set by management team.
- Provide support functions to the R&D team such as ordering and maintaining reagents/supplies/equipment, maintaining accurate notes and records, and effective communication with other DiscoverX departments.
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

The ideal candidate:
- B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology or related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
- Supervisory experience desirable, but not required
- Extensive mammalian cell culture experience with both adherent and suspension cells and demonstrated expertise in developing or running cell-based assays required.
- Experience performing flow cytometry, TR-FRET, transcriptional reporter assays, ELISA, or similar assays, preferably in 96-well and 384-well plate formats strongly preferred
- Knowledgeable in GPCR pharmacology and relevant assay readouts, and experience studying diverse cell signaling pathways desirable
- Familiar with assembling and plotting data in GraphPad Prism, SoftMax Pro, MicroSoft Excel or Powerpoint and presenting data to supervisor and peers
- Demonstrated success in independently performing advanced troubleshooting and contributes additional tactical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced highly collaborative team environment
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
