Job Description
- Support client research objectives in the area of microbiology.
- Carry out routine tasks in support of laboratory operations, including, but not limited to: microbiology media preparation; plating; inoculation; incubation; colony identification; counting; and data reporting.
- Ensure efficient operations of the laboratory by ensuring that supplies and consumables are ordered, stocked, and lab space maintained in accordance to 5S standards.
- Maintain strict record keeping by updating hard copy and electronic records; review data, data notebooks, and logbooks to ensure highest quality and integrity of data generated.
- Meet all quality and productivity metrics.
- Maintain the highest level of organization, accuracy, and detail in accordance with ISO17025 quality system requirements.
- Support other scientific teams as assigned (molecular biology, analytical chemistry, QA lab support, etc.)
- Learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow WIs and SOPs as written, and perform other duties as assigned

- Support and promote company policies and procedures
- Relevant microbiology laboratory experience preferred, strong understanding and educational foundation in the biological sciences
- Degree in microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related scientific discipline preferred
- 2 years of industry experience preferred in lieu of college degree
- Strong familiarity with microbiological practices, methods, techniques, and procedures
- Experience working within an established quality system (i.e. ISO 17025) preferred
- Ability to stand and work on the feet for extended periods in a laboratory environment
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
- Demonstrate strong client service skills, teamwork, and collaboration
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
