We are looking for: Financial Controller
Eagle Wireless is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the company’s lead accounting executive. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Controller will own full-cycle US GAAP accounting and financial close while leading a 9-month global consolidation buildout targeting a 5-business-day close. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role for a finance leader who wants to build, not just manage.
This position is based in Cleveland, Ohio with a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Close: Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual US GAAP close process end-to-end
- Global Consolidation Buildout: Lead the design and implementation of a multi-subsidiary global consolidation process targeting a 5-business-day close, with a 9-month buildout timeline
- Multi-Entity Reporting: Oversee general ledger integrity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and intercompany eliminations across US, Penang, and Germany entities
- ERP Ownership (NetSuite): Serve as the primary NetSuite power user for accounting workflows; drive system optimization and process automation
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages for CFO and executive leadership
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the accounting team; establish clear close checklists, deadlines, and accountability structures
- Audit & Compliance: Manage external audit relationship; coordinate year-end audit and tax provision preparation
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with FP&A and operations on budgeting, forecasting support, and gross margin analysis
- Internal Controls: Establish and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance procedures appropriate for a growing multi-national company
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience; prior Controller or Senior Accounting Manager title preferred
- Public accounting background strongly preferred (Big 4 or mid-market firm)
- Experience at a manufacturing, electronics, or technology company
- Hands-on experience with multi-entity consolidation and international accounting (multi-currency, intercompany)
- Proficiency in NetSuite; direct NetSuite administration or optimization experience is a significant plus
- Proficiency with Claude AI and related large language model tools for financial analysis, reporting automation, and operational efficiency; experience building or working with AI-assisted workflows is a strong plus
- Advanced Excel modeling skills required — including dynamic financial models, multi-scenario analysis, Power Query, and structured data architecture; ability to build board- and CFO-ready models from scratch
- Experience with Ramp (corporate cards and spend management) is a plus; Eagle Wireless uses Ramp today and has plans to expand the platform globally across all subsidiaries
- Experience with Rippling (global HR, payroll, and workforce management) is a plus; Eagle Wireless is implementing Rippling as its global HR solution and the Controller will be a key cross-functional partner in that rollout
- Proven ability to build and improve close processes, not just execute them
- Strong communicator comfortable working directly with a CFO and senior leadership team
- Cleveland / Northeast Ohio area based, or willing to relocate
