Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role involves coordinating service appointments, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring a seamless experience from vehicle drop-off to pick-up. Candidates with dealership experience, automotive service management skills, and a strong background in automotive diagnostics are highly preferred. The Service Advisor plays a vital role in maintaining customer satisfaction while promoting additional services and repairs.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Prepare detailed service estimates, including auto estimating and service writing
- Communicate repair recommendations clearly, upselling where appropriate to enhance customer value
- Coordinate with technicians regarding vehicle repairs, diagnostics, and mechanical work such as transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, alignments, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish ensuring timely completion
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote additional services such as vehicle maintenance or automobile sales
- Maintain thorough knowledge of automotive repair procedures and current industry standards
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients
- Ability to upsell services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing processes
- Familiarity with automotive sales processes is a plus
- Cash handling proficiency and attention to detail in documentation
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
