What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator / Backhaul Coordinator, Dry Van Trucking position at EURO TRUCKING?
Euro Trucking Inc is a growing, family owned carrier in the midwest (Circleville, OH) running 31 trucks, with more on the way. We're looking for an Operations Coordinator to work alongside our dispatch team, keep our trucks loaded, and help us run more efficiently. This is a hands-on role with real room to grow as we expand.
What you'll do
- Source backhauls and freight through load boards and broker relationships to keep trucks loaded and reduce deadhead
- Support our dispatcher with load planning, driver communication, and day-to-day coordination
- Help track driver compliance, including HOS, logs, and paperwork
- Coordinate maintenance and shop scheduling to minimize downtime
- Monitor fuel usage, miles, and deadhead, and flag opportunities to improve
- Handle broker and customer updates, delays, and issues as they come up
What we're looking for
- 1 years in trucking, dispatch, freight brokerage, or logistics
- Familiarity with load boards (DAT, Truckstop) and a TMS or ELD platform, or willingness to learn quickly
- Strong communication skills and comfort negotiating rates
- Organized, dependable, and calm under pressure
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to help with occasional after-hours coverage a plus
