What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Markets Research Analyst (London and New York) position at Eurasia Group?
Background: Eurasia Group is the leading provider of political risk analysis for financial markets globally. The Eurasia Group research team is seeking 1-2 new employees to supplement the firm’s current work on understanding how political risk is priced into global asset markets and conveying our analyst’s views to financial clients.
The roles: These positions will involve working closely with our research leadership and global analytics teams to develop new ways of understanding how political uncertainty is priced into global asset markets. The roles will involve editorial and analytical oversight and daily production of the Eurasia Group Daily, a flagship publication which goes out every day in the morning to our financial clients. Editorial/analytical responsibility includes both qualitative written analysis and quantitative data-driven analysis expressed in charts and infographics. Candidates should have significant macro analytic experience including working and interpreting data, understanding and assessing global financial markets and economic trends, and political analysis.
Qualifications: The ideal qualifications include 3-7 years of experience in financial markets or macro analysis at a leading international financial institution or asset manager or at a sell-side research institution. For one position we may also consider a more junior team member with less work experience if they have robust data analytic capability. An excellent track record of scholastic performance in political science, finance or economics is also expected. A graduate degree in one of these areas is preferred but not required. The ability to work with data is essential. Financial journalism experience is a plus.
