Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Job Description
Position Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Employment Type: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $15.00–$17.00 per hour (based on experience and certifications)
Schedule & Hours
- Part-time: 16–32 hours per week
- End of week shifts, Wednesday- Saturday
Available shifts:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Hybrid shifts available
- Weekend and holiday availability required
- Overtime opportunities available
Position Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide daily support and care for individuals with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities. DSPs assist clients with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with personal care, hygiene, and grooming
- Support clients with meal preparation and medication reminders
- Help individuals participate in community activities and appointments
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily progress notes
- Encourage independence, social interaction, and life skills development
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients
- Follow care plans and company policies at all times
Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED required
- Previous caregiving or DSP experience is a plus but not required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training may be provided)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
