POSITION: Early Learning Classroom Support – Eugene Field Early Learning Center
LOCATION: Eugene Field Early Learning
POSITION SUMMARY
Eugene Field Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, dependable individual to join our preschool team as a Classroom Support Staff member. This role works closely with the classroom teacher to create a positive, developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 3–5.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma required
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Ability to independently supervise up to 12 preschool-age students when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
SCHEDULE
- Monday–Friday
- 12:30 PM–5:30 PM
- 10-month position with the option for summer employment
RESPONSIBLE TO
Classroom Teacher & Building Principal
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Assist in creating a warm, engaging classroom atmosphere that supports learning and exploration.
- Help reinforce age-appropriate expectations and routines to promote positive behavior.
- Support daily instruction by monitoring and engaging with students while the lead and assistant teacher work with small groups or individuals.
- Participate actively in indoor play, learning centers, and hands-on activities.
- Provide active supervision during outdoor play and follow safety expectations at all times.
- Support meal routines, including sanitizing tables, distributing food, and cleaning up.
- Supervise students during nap/rest time and ensure a calm environment.
- Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity to meet the needs of all children and families.
- Communicate information to families as directed by the teacher or administration.
- Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students, and families.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the teacher or building administration.
EMPLOYMENT TERMS
Part-time position following the Teacher Assistant/Classroom Support Staff pay scale. Benefits include health insurance, paid sick leave, and personal leave.
PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policy for classified staff.
Pay: $11.75 - $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
