To further strengthen our team at ETO MAGNETIC CORP. in Grand Rapids, we are seeking a dynamic third shift 10:45 pm-7:15 am, which includes startup/shutdown activities. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex automated machinery and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems used in manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in industrial automation, electrical systems, and mechanical maintenance, with a passion for precision and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Master Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Production Manager the Automation Technician II is responsible for output, quality, and performance of the line. This position will rotate between the automation cells and the CNC area based on production needs.
1. Assist with material handling of raw components and finished goods to insure continuous running of production line
2. Ensure production key metrics are achieved (throughput, scrap, quality) through sense of urgency and detail regarding line uptime, scrap limits, and quality checks/concerns
3. Basic machine resets and minor adjustments of equipment
4. Operate Swiss style CNC lathes to produce quality product at target rate. This can include operating multiple pieces of equipment simultaneously
5. Correctly setup jobs for assigned equipment in a timely manner
6. Perform 1st piece, in-process, and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges and CMM equipment according to process documentation
7. Perform data collection and operator maintenance
8. Diagnose and correct equipment or tool issues
9. Assist in the repair or replacement of machine parts
10. Able to root cause and correct scrap, throughput and mechanical issues
11. Participate in continuous improvement programs, including cycle time analysis
12. Verify that all quality checks, tally sheets, and other production documents are properly completed and maintained and that appropriate actions are taken to contain and control out of compliance conditions
13. Possess positive motivation and willingness to work within a team-based environment
14. Perform 5S duties to ensure a clean and organized work environment
15. Ensure compliance with Corporate and Plant policies and procedures
16. Willing to work daily and weekend overtime as needed to support production
17. Other duties as assigned. Job lifting requirements of 35 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, turn, and squat if necessary
REQUIRED SKILLS/CREDENTIALS
1. Mechanical aptitude including experience with pneumatics and electronic servos
2. Able to work in fast pace production environment
3. Proficient with Microsoft Excel
4. Read, write, and speak English (bilingual is preferred)
5. High school diploma or equivalent
6. Basic knowledge of vision inspection systems
PREFERRED SKILLS
1. Minimum 2 years automation technician experience
2. Minimum 3 years in fast paced production environment
3. Experience with CNC machines is strongly preferred
4. Root cause/problem solving
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
