Finance Intern

JOB SUMMARY: The Finance Interns primary objective is to work collaboratively with the Finance/Accounting department to gather and analyze data and work to resolve financial discrepancies and issues.

MAJOR DUTIES:

• Assist in the collection and preparation of monthly financial reports
• Compare and understand monthly financial variances within different departments
• Work with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Undertaking data entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist the accounting team in researching and analyzing of monthly financial data
• Cross-checking financial statements and data for accuracy
• Support the accounting team with various accounting projects and tasks
• Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Should be in the process of obtaining an Associates or Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or related field at an accredited college or university
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Highly efficient and reliable
• Motivated individual with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to multi-task and work in a competitive environment
• Respect confidentiality and handle matters with discretion
• Proficient in Microsoft Programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Some bending and twisting are required. Routine duties will occasionally require lifting approximately 10-20 pounds (and periodically heavier loads.)
