Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Industrial Electrician based in Greenville, SC. The Industrial Electrician will perform electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across the facility, with a specific focus on conduit work, motor controls, and high-voltage systems. Responsibilities include ensuring equipment safety and efficiency, performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance, reading and interpreting technical diagrams, and adhering to safety and compliance procedures. The role requires working closely with other technicians, engineers, and production departments to minimize downtime and maintain operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Install, bend, pull, and secure various types of conduit (EMT, rigid, flexible, etc.), including proper selection and use of fittings and supports.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to complete installations and repairs.
· Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting on electrical systems and equipment including motors, motor starter circuits, lighting, transformers, VFDs, and PLCs (24V, 110V, 240V, and 480V systems).
· Work with Shop Foreman and assist shift mechanics in completing electrical and general maintenance tasks.
· Perform preventive maintenance inspections and testing of electrical systems and provide feedback on equipment condition.
· Document work performed using maintenance software (MP2), including time, materials, and observations.
· Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
· Maintain readiness as a Hazmat Operations-level responder.
· Train and support less experienced mechanics as directed.
· Act as a leader in the shop and train new hires and fellow mechanics per MOPs and general maintenance procedures.
· Availability to work overtime and weekend call-backs as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree, technical training, or electrical certification in a relevant field is preferred.
· Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical plant setting.
· Proficient in conduit installation, electrical troubleshooting, and high-voltage systems.
· Familiarity with MP2 or similar maintenance management systems.
· Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
· Technically inclined and skilled with hand and power tools.
· Ability to successfully interface with customers, associates, and the community.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex requests, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
· Regular and reliable attendance. Required to be on-site.
Physical Requirements:
Physical ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes prolonged periods of standing and walking, climbing stairs and ladders, performing repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works both indoors and outdoors and must be able to tolerate working in changing weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud.
