Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician, Emergency
Compensation: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour, plus overnight differential
$2,500 Sign-On Bonus
Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Roseville is seeking a dedicated overnight Registered Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team.
About the Role:
As an RVT in our Emergency Department, you will:
- Triage and stabilize incoming emergency patients efficiently and accurately
- Assist veterinarians in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and emergency procedures
- Obtain, process, and analyze laboratory samples, including blood, urine, fluid, and cytology
- Perform and assist with radiographs, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities for emergency assessment
- Administer, monitor, and recover patients under sedation and anesthesia, including emergency interventions
- Assist with emergency surgical procedures and minor surgeries as needed
- Provide compassionate client communication in high-stress situations, including explaining procedures, updates, and patient status
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and ensure proper infection control and safety protocols are followed
- Wednesday – Saturday
- Overnight shifts
- 4 shifts/week, 10 hours per shift

- Ability to prioritize and adapt quickly in emergency situations
- Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in the state of California
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a veterinary technician in an emergency setting
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures, imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical assistance
- Commitment to collaborating with a multidisciplinary veterinary team
- Ability to work overnight shifts and handle high-stress situations professionally
