About the Role
We are seeking a Director of IT SOX Compliance to lead our SOX program, strengthen and enterprise risk management Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, this leader will partner across the business to drive governance, ensure SOX 404 compliance on the IT side of things, and safeguard the integrity of our financial systems.
This is a highly visible role with exposure to executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in internal controls and SOX, proven experience in IT and business process audits, and a background that includes supporting organizations through significant compliance and regulatory readiness initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee SOX compliance, including planning, scoping, risk assessments, testing, remediation, and reporting.
- Evaluate IT General Controls (ITGCs), automated application controls (ITACs), and business process controls.
- Partner with control owners to enhance awareness, training, and sustainable compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors on walkthroughs, testing, and reporting.
- Contribute to enterprise risk management by identifying, assessing, and reporting key risks.
- Stay current on evolving regulations, cybersecurity, and SOX best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10 years of progressive experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, and risk management.
- Deep knowledge of SOX 404, COSO, PCAOB, COBIT, and IT control frameworks.
- Experience working in environments requiring readiness for heightened compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Prior Big Four or large public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence executives and present to Audit Committees.
- Professional certifications preferred (CPA, CIA, CISA, CRMA).
- Advanced degree (MBA, MIS) a plus.

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000 - $258,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
