We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Billing Assistant Manager to join our billing department. This critical position is essential for our organization's financial well-being, as it ensures accurate and timely submission of patient claims to various insurance providers. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our revenue cycle management, carefully managing the claims process from initial submission to final resolution. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, based in our Ocala office. 


Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Accounts Receivable Experience

  • Supervisor/Manager experience in an office setting

  • 3 years of experience in medical billing within a healthcare provider setting

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience using EHR systems, billing software, and working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding

Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical records to ensure accurate coding using ICD-10 and CPT codes

  • Submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers within established deadlines

  • Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement

  • Analyze claim denials and identify root causes

  • Gather documentation and initiate appeals with insurance providers

  • Work with clinical teams to correct coding errors and resolve discrepancies

  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing statements and outstanding balances

  • Clearly explain billing procedures and payment options to patients in a professional, empathetic manner

  • Participates in special billing projects as assigned


Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry 

  • Careful claim review, and ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently 

  • Ability to explain complex billing information 

  • Knowledgeable of CPT/ICD-10 coding

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Familiarity with payer requirements and claims adjudication processes

  • Experience using a billing software and EHR system 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications

  • Positive attitude and demeanor


This is a full time position, Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
