Summary Responsibilities – Director – Electrical Services
The Director of Electrical Service has four general responsibilities:
- Successfully plan and manage a portfolio of projects under one or multiple programs, both pre- and post-order, to deliver strong customer, operational, and financial results.
- Facilitate Ethos’ electrical leadership team development and build overall capabilities and talent. Effectively manage, coach, and develop Ethos Electrical team members.
- Facilitate growth by developing accounts strategically and building meaningful customer relationships.
- Add to Ethos’ strategic capabilities by developing deep subject matter expertise in specific service offering areas and leading Ethos’ strategy and operations in these areas.
Essential Duties (Summary):
- Successfully plan and manage a portfolio of projects under multiple customers, both pre- and post-order, to deliver strong customer, operational, and financial results.
- Coordinate with customer accounts on current and future project activity.
- Develop and maintain revenue forecasts, resource plans, and associated schedules.
- Respond to customer-requested RFPs, RFIs, and other requests for quotes.
o Perform bid walks, evaluate site conditions relative to scope of work.
o Validate Ethos’ ability to comply with build requirements and construction schedules.
o Develop required materials lists for projects. Work with vendors, subcontractors, and Ethos resources to develop accurate cost estimates.
o Populate pricing matrices for assigned accounts.
- Coordinate division operations and team activities.
o Coordinate with Ethos’ field leadership/supervisors in directing day-to-day operations for 4–10 crews (12–60 team members) across multiple customers.
o Foster a safe operations environment through safety leadership and example.
o Ensure field leadership is complying with customer specifications for construction.
o Review daily reports from field construction crews and engage with field leadership to ensure crews are meeting schedule, cost, and quality metrics.
- Ensure successful project launches after order through pre-project planning.
o Review and release materials for ordering.
o Coordinate key subcontractors, permitting, safety plans, and other pre-project documentation.
- Manage projects for successful financial outcomes and help crews meet financial goals.
o Participate in the field enough to be informed of all current field service operations.
o Review quotes and execution plans with field leadership prior to project start.
o Oversee cost control efforts for all direct and indirect operations costs.
o Coordinate submission of change orders for scope changes.
o Oversee end-of-project “true-ups” and financial closeouts.
o Conduct “post-project reviews” with crews to develop “lessons learned” and improve.
- Facilitate Ethos’ Electrical team development and build overall capabilities and talent.
- Collaborate with the Director of Telecom/Electrical Division in assessing overall division talent, business requirements, and specific development needs. Assist in building strategies to address talent gaps through training, hiring, coaching, and other developmental tools.
- Build and model a results-oriented culture centered around “the Ethos Way.” Maintain a company philosophy of company success and not department success. Share resources as necessary to ensure the company fulfills all its obligations.
- Coordinate with division leadership, PMs, and other Directors to manage staffing for all operations functions.
o Forecast and communicate staffing needs for customer programs you oversee.
o Coordinate hiring, terminations, and other staffing-level decisions. Conduct hiring interviews for field leadership.
- Provide annual assessments, performance management, and, where necessary, disciplinary action for field leadership and associated crew members.
- Actively coach the field leadership team supporting your projects. Be a partner in their growth, development, and success. Outline growth opportunities and help team members receive promotions.
- Facilitate strategic growth by developing accounts strategically and building meaningful customer relationships.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to create “win-win” relationships.
- Lead assigned accounts on a day-to-day basis. Work through project and other operations questions and challenges.
- Strategically develop critical accounts.
o Set goals for relationship building.
o Conduct annual account reviews.
o Follow up with customers’ upper management on Ethos performance.
o Cross-sell and expand Ethos services provided to the account.
- Add to Ethos’ strategic capabilities by developing deep subject matter expertise in specific service offering areas and leading Ethos’ strategy and operations in these areas.
- Note: Ethos has deep experience in performing Lines and Antennas upgrades. Ethos has modest experience in the following areas and is seeking that this PM have deep experience and willingness to lead our work and function as our subject matter expert (SME) in one or more of the following areas:
o Telecom Civil (with significant New Site Build experience)
o Microwave
o Small Cell/DAS
o Fiber
o Electrical
- Build a systematic capability for that area within Ethos.
o Train Crew Leads, Journeymen, and Superintendents within this discipline.
o Ensure Ethos programs in this area are profitable, even for accounts you don’t specifically oversee.
o Prepare budgets for tooling, materials, capex, and other expenditures necessary to compete in this area.
o Provide input in our strategic planning process as our SME in specific areas.
- Lead or coach our project and field teams in bidding and executing projects within your area of expertise (as designated above).
- Continue to build your individual knowledge in your area of expertise so that Ethos is truly a leader in this area.

Education, Training, and Skills Required:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- OSHA 30
- CPR/First Aid
- Master Electrician License in CO and other States as needed
- NFPA70E
- 5 years’ experience in Construction Management/ Project Management
- 8-10 years’ working in Electrical construction
- Advanced knowledge of working on commercial electrical projects.
- Comprehension of construction documents
- Passed initial background check and substance screening
- Must maintain a valid state Driver’s License
- High school diploma or equivalent college degree preferred
- Able to read construction drawings and specifications
- Ability to read/ understand customer matrix pricing and RFQ requests
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and customer relation skills
- Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels
- Advanced computer operation skills
- Excellent communications skills
