POSITION SUMMARY
Are you passionate about gaming and education? Ethlete Lab Academy is seeking Game Design / Animation Instructor to teach interactive, engaging, and fun-filled classes to students in grades 4–7 and 8–12. This dynamic role involves delivering 50-minute sessions focused on tech, strategy, and teamwork. Ideal candidates have strong presentation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a desire to work in a fast-paced, exciting environment. This is more than a teaching role—it’s an opportunity to inspire the next generation of game design and animation creators and industry professionals while growing your career by designing new classes and camps. Classes are currently held Wednesday (4–5:50 PM), and Saturday (10 AM–10:50 AM) with the potential of more classes being added .
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Curriculum Development and Instruction: Design and deliver lessons on esports fundamentals, including game theory, strategy, teamwork, and industry trends. Incorporate both theoretical knowledge and practical activities, such as gameplay analysis and skill-building exercises.
• Student Support and Mentorship: Guide students in their esports journey, helping them explore career opportunities, develop essential skills, and achieve their personal goals.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments to track student progress, including in-class evaluations and end-of-module reviews.
• Team Collaboration: Partner with other educators and industry professionals to enhance the curriculum, provide real-world experiences, and create opportunities for students to participate in competitions and events.
• Community Engagement: Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters teamwork, communication, and respect. Lead esports events and competitions for hands-on learning.
• Industry Awareness: Stay informed about the latest trends, games, and technologies in esports to keep the curriculum current and inspire students with real-world insights.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated experience in Game Design or a closely related field is required.
- Hands-on experience with GameMaker Studio is essential.
- Experience with Unity and/or Unreal Engine is highly desirable.
- Background in esports, interactive media, or youth-focused technology programs is a strong plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse learners.
- Passion for game design, esports, and interactive learning, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Comfortable explaining technical concepts in an age-appropriate, beginner-friendly way.
- Ability to manage group-based projects and foster collaboration.
- Degree or relevant professional experience in Game Design.
- Real-world industry experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Proficiency or working knowledge of GameMaker Studio, with exposure to Unity and Unreal Engine preferred.
- Familiarity with PC gaming hardware, controllers, and esports platforms.
- Comfortable using digital classroom tools, learning platforms, and basic production software as needed.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology requirements based on course offerings.
