Summary:

We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations and patient care services in Rhode Island. This is a full-time, patient-facing opportunity focused on delivering safe, high-quality pharmacy services and supporting vaccination and patient care programs. The Pharmacist will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager and pharmacy support staff to ensure effective workflow, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, customer service, inventory management, and overall pharmacy operations.

The role requires an active Rhode Island Pharmacy License, the ability to obtain an accredited Immunization Certification (such as APhA), and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree. The position is scheduled primarily between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with pharmacists generally working 8–10 hours per day, 4–5 days per week. The pharmacist will not be responsible for opening or closing the pharmacy and will not serve as the sole pharmacist on duty.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, professional, and high-quality pharmacy services to patients and customers.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager in the daily management and operation of the pharmacy.
• Promote patient safety and maintain high standards of pharmacy professional practice.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, pharmacy policies, and quality standards.
• Support vaccination and other patient care programs designed to improve patient health outcomes.
• Provide compassionate, empathetic, and professional customer and patient service.
• Lead, support, motivate, and develop Pharmacy Technician and support staff.
• Assign and coordinate workflow responsibilities based on team members' strengths and development needs.
• Monitor and improve pharmacy workflow to promote efficiency and quality.
• Support inventory management, loss prevention, and financial profitability initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy performance, patient care, and business operations.
• Implement solutions and work with the pharmacy team to achieve established goals.
• Adapt to changing priorities within a dynamic community healthcare environment.
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff and other team members to deliver better patient outcomes.
• Promote a positive team culture built around caring, energy, enthusiasm, and professional pride.
• Support the management and oversight of pharmacy operations while maintaining a strong focus on patient care.
• Work at more than one assigned CVS Pharmacy location when operational needs require.

Experience:

• Active Pharmacist License in the state of employment (Rhode Island).
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharmacy) or Pharm.D. degree required.
• Ability to obtain Immunization Certification through an accredited organization such as APhA.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must not be listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
• Must have no pending felony charges or convictions involving controlled substances.
• Experience supporting pharmacy operations, patient care, medication safety, quality assurance, workflow management, and customer service is highly relevant.
• Experience leading, supporting, or developing pharmacy technicians and support staff is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a patient-facing community healthcare environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and schedules.
• Candidates must meet applicable CVS/Caremark requirements, including a verifiable high school diploma or GED.
