Compensation & Benefits
Compensation at Ethic is a combination of base salary, equity (stock options) in the company, and benefits.
The base salary for this role will range from $175,000-$195,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

What You’ll Do
As a member of our Software Engineering team, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining software components that support the portfolio management functions of our business. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers, product managers, the portfolio management team, and external vendors to meet the growing demands of our increasingly complex operations. You'll also have the opportunity to work with modern technology paradigms on Google Cloud, including modular architecture, functional programming, and reactive applications. More specifically you’ll:
- Design, develop and deliver modules for our proprietary portfolio management system, which includes portfolio construction as well as workflow management
- Model the business data into the right data store
- Add automations to the infrastructure
- Assist in maintaining and improving existing software applications
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Work directly with Ethic's engineering, product, and business teams throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle

What You’ll Bring To The Table
- 5 years of Software Engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Knowledge of RDBMS. NoSQL experience a plus
- Experience in portfolio construction and/or workflow management a plus
- Strong understanding of functional programming paradigms
- Familiarity with unit testing tools
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Passionate about Software and technology. Interest in Asset Management a plus
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
