WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The FP&A Manager will lead project financial analysis, forecasting, and management reporting, with primary responsibility for providing visibility into project profitability and overall business performance. This role will partner closely with Project Managers, Operations, Accounting, and senior leadership to identify financial risks and opportunities, improve forecast accuracy, and support data-driven decision-making.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Own project profitability reporting, including revenue, costs, gross margin, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conduct regular financial reviews with Project Managers and maintain project forecasts and estimates to complete.
- Identify margin deterioration, cost overruns, billing issues, and other financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor backlog conversion, project revenue, and expected margins.
- Analyze project performance against original estimates and develop benchmarks to improve future project economics.
- Partner with Accounting and Operations to ensure costs are accurately captured and allocated to projects.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly forecasts for revenue, gross profit, EBITDA, cash flow, and other key metrics.
- Support the annual budgeting and planning process.
- Prepare monthly management reporting and analyze results versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Develop financial models, scenarios, dashboards, and KPIs to support business decisions.
- Prepare financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Continuously improve and automate financial reporting and forecasting processes.
- Serve as a finance partner to Project Managers and Operations, helping teams understand and manage financial performance.
- Support project setup, budgeting, and financial planning.
- Partner with Business Development and Operations to evaluate new projects and significant bids.
- Translate financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for operational leaders.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 5 years of FP&A, project finance, or operational finance experience.
- Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance-analysis skills.
- Advanced Excel skills;
- Experience with SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP required. Experience working in NetSuite is preferred.
- Strong understanding of project economics, financial statements, margins, and cash flow.
- Experience in construction, telecommunications, engineering, utilities, or another project-based business highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to partner effectively with operational teams.

WHAT TO EXPECT
