Location: Highland, NY
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire
Starting Pay: $18.00/hour

Overview:
A growing manufacturer in Highland, NY is hiring a 2nd Shift Machine Shop Operator to support production operations. This role focuses on operating saws and other machinery, ensuring precision and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing setting and be comfortable working with technical drawings and power tools.

Machine Shop Operator Responsibilities:

• Operate saws, drill presses, tapping tools, and sheet metal equipment
• Use measuring tools to verify product specifications
• Read and follow blueprints and schematics
• Pick and prepare materials based on job orders
• Perform inventory transactions using ERP systems
• Maintain organized inventory and accurate labeling
• Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

Machine Shop Operator Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience with metal fabrication and power tools preferred
• Familiarity with ERP systems and RF scanners is a plus
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals
• Must be able to:
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach regularly
  • Safely use ladders and step stools
  • Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
