Job Title:
Sheet Metal Mechanic
Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of HVAC-Sheet Metal functions including performing and coordinating the installation, repair and service of HVAC-Sheet Metal systems on a commercial job site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs various field and shop tasks associated with the HVAC sheet metal trade.
- Installs, renovates, and repairs commercial/industrial HVAC air distribution systems
- Organizes material and manpower needs for jobs/projects
- Understands correct application of field and shop equipment to job completion.
- Layout duct work (as well as fittings and specialty items) to accommodate job specifications.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- At least 5 years of practical HVAC sheet metal fabrication experience in a shop and/or field setting.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and general construction environment.
- Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the sheet metal trade.
- Ability to train apprentices.
- Physical activities include standing, balancing, climbing stairs and ladders, walking and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. are required.
