Job Summary
We are seeking a Biological Researcher II to support laboratory operations focused on biologics formulation development and analytical characterization activities. This is a fully lab-based role requiring strong hands-on experience in formulation preparation, analytical testing, stability studies, and laboratory documentation within a biologics or pharmaceutical R&D environment.
The ideal candidate should possess practical laboratory expertise, strong analytical and documentation capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional scientific team.
Core Essential Skill Sets
Minimum 3 years of experience required in the following areas:
- Background in:
- Biologics
- Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biochemistry
- Chemical Engineering
- Or related scientific disciplines
- Hands-on laboratory experience in:
- Biologics formulation development
- Analytical characterization
- Related pharmaceutical laboratory work
- Experience working with common laboratory techniques and analytical instruments used in biologics/pharmaceutical development
- Strong documentation, reporting, and data analysis skills
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating within a cross-functional laboratory environment
- Prior industry experience in biologics or pharmaceutical R&D is preferred
The contractor will support core laboratory and documentation activities, including but not limited to:
Formulation & Sample Preparation
- Preparation of formulation buffers and protein drug product samples
- Execution of formulation screening studies
- Perform routine characterization and analytical testing for:
- Liquid biologic drug products
- Lyophilized biologic drug products
- Analytical techniques may include:
- Chromatographic tests
- Electrophoretic tests
- Biophysical tests
- Stability study sample preparation
- Stability sample pulls and tracking
- Support in-use and compatibility study preparation activities
- Analytical sample coordination and data organization
- Document experimental data following:
- Applicable laboratory procedures
- Current documentation practices
- Maintain best practices for:
- Knowledge management
- Data management in ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)
- Contribute to technical reports as needed
- Provide general laboratory support aligned with:
- DPD workflows
- EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong hands-on biologics/pharmaceutical laboratory experience
- Experience supporting formulation and analytical development activities
- Familiarity with stability studies and sample management
- Experience maintaining scientific documentation in ELN systems
- Excellent organizational and collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a regulated laboratory environment
