NOW HIRING – ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
Location: North Vernon, Indiana
ETC Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team. We are a commercial and industrial electrical contractor serving schools, healthcare facilities, industrial clients, municipal projects, and commercial customers throughout Indiana and the surrounding region.
This position will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates, reviewing construction documents, soliciting vendor pricing, and assisting with project handoff and budgeting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complete electrical estimates for commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, and municipal projects
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Perform quantity takeoffs and labor calculations
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, and vendors
- Attend pre-bid meetings when required
- Maintain estimating databases and pricing information
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving recommendations
Qualifications
- Experience using estimating software such as McCormick, Accubid, ConEst, or similar electrical estimating platforms
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, PDF software, and cloud-based project management systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Preferred Experience
- Strong understanding of electrical labor units, material pricing, and bid strategy
- Experience preparing competitive lump-sum, negotiated, and design-build estimates
- Ability to review plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents and identify scope gaps
- Knowledge of project management, budgeting, and cost control practices
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, engineers, general contractors, and owners
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and cloud-based construction management platforms
