Now Hiring: Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Contract Role)

Duration: 3–12 Months | 1st Shift
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join Parker Meggitt Aerospace in supporting advanced aerospace electronic component development. This role plays a key part in the design, analysis, and delivery of mechanical solutions across the full product lifecycle—from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Design mechanical packaging for aerospace electronic hardware
Develop 3D/2D CAD models (sheet metal, machined parts, plastics, castings)
Prepare engineering drawing packages, BOMs, and assembly documentation
Perform weight analysis, FEA (structural & thermal), and mechanical testing
Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and prototype development
Generate technical reports and support design qualification activities
Lead design reviews, dFMEA/pFMEA, and risk management activities
Collaborate across engineering teams and provide subject matter expertise
Drive process improvements and support continuous engineering excellence
Mentor and guide junior engineers when required
🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (required)
8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
Advanced FEA experience (ANSYS preferred)
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and analysis methods
Experience with aerospace or high-reliability electronic systems
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Knowledge of aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP)
Experience with electronics packaging design
Strong background in cross-functional engineering collaboration
