Job Purpose:

To perform a variety of activities within departments to facilitate the production process.

Essential Functions:

• Assembles and/or tests various tools to ready them for further manufacturing processes or for shipping.
• Scrapes or rubs workpiece with wire brush, buffing equipment, or over abrasive wheel to remove scratches and other defects from part surfaces.
• Loads and unloads materials or products onto or from pallets, skids, etc., manually or with hand truck.
• Delivers stock from one work station to another to assist in production.
• Cleans around designated work areas using broom and shovel.
• Sorts product from one tub and/or cart to another.
• Completes the appropriate routing sheet and inputs data entry information in a timely manner.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

• One to three months of related experience or on-the-job training.

Physical:

• Must be able to stand at equipment for 8 hours or more per day
• Must be able to use both hands to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands or arms, stoop or kneel, and communicate with others.
• Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds.
• Must have close vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus on work.
• Employees will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, moderate noise levels, vibration to hands, and occasionally outside weather conditions.
• Employees will be required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses and foot protection.

Mental:

• Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to perform mathematical skills such as: addition, subtractions, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Must have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
