Job Summary

The Production Operator supports daily manufacturing operations by operating equipment, performing cleaning and sanitation activities, handling materials, and maintaining production records.

This is not a traditional assembly-line position. Successful employees in this role are highly dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, comfortable with repetitive work, and committed to maintaining strict personal hygiene and cleanliness standards.

A significant portion of this position involves cleaning, sanitation, housekeeping, and maintaining GMP-compliant work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Operations

· Operate manufacturing and packaging equipment according to established procedures.

· Follow production schedules, batch records, and supervisor instructions.

· Participate in training on multiple production processes and equipment.

· Perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently throughout the workday.

· Assist with production setup, operation, and equipment changeovers.

· Follow all company procedures related to product quality and food safety.

Cleaning and Sanitation

· Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of production rooms, equipment, tools, and workstations.

· Support PPE laundering and garment management activities.

· Follow company cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures.

· Maintain work areas in an inspection-ready condition at all times.

· Support housekeeping activities, including organization of work areas, waste disposal, and facility cleanliness.

· Understand that cleanliness is a critical part of product quality, product safety, and regulatory compliance.

GMP Compliance and Documentation

· Follow all FDA, cGMP, safety, and company policies.

· Read and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and production documents.

· Complete production records accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner.

· Report deviations, equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards immediately.

Material Handling and Warehouse Support

· Verify material labels, lot numbers, and expiration dates.

· Move materials and supplies as needed.

· Assist with receiving, storage, inventory organization, and warehouse activities.

· Support pallet handling and material staging activities.

Teamwork and Communication

· Work respectfully and professionally with supervisors and coworkers.

· Support team goals and maintain a positive work environment.

· Communicate effectively and follow directions.

· Contribute to a culture of accountability, cleanliness, quality, and safety.

Required Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions in English.

· Ability to learn and follow detailed procedures.

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.

· Ability to lift and move moderate loads.

· Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

· Ability to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Important Job Requirements

Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.

To be successful in this role, applicants must be willing and able to:

· Report to work on time every scheduled workday.

· Maintain excellent personal hygiene standards on a daily basis.

· Maintain clean clothing, clean hair, and proper grooming suitable for a GMP manufacturing environment.

· Maintain fingernails in a clean and sanitary condition appropriate for food and dietary supplement manufacturing.

· Wear required PPE at all times while working in production areas, including hair covering, protective garments, gloves, and shoe covers.

· Perform cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping duties daily.

· Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods while maintaining quality and attention to detail.

· Learn and operate multiple types of manufacturing equipment.

· Read, understand, and follow written procedures and instructions.

· Work closely with coworkers in a team-oriented environment.

· Accept coaching, training, and constructive feedback.

· Support company efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready facility.

· Be willing to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs, including later shifts when required.

This position may not be a good fit for individuals who:

· Have difficulty maintaining reliable attendance or punctuality.

· Are uncomfortable with strict personal hygiene and GMP requirements.

· Do not enjoy cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping responsibilities.

· Dislike repetitive work or routine tasks.

· Prefer not to follow detailed written procedures.

· Have difficulty working closely with a team.

· Are not available to work occasional flexible or later shifts when business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous manufacturing experience.

· Experience in dietary supplement, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or GMP-regulated industries.

· Previous equipment operation experience.

· Experience with cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Schedule

Typical schedules include:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Standard Shift)
  • 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (Later Shift, based on business needs and employee availability)

Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required based on production schedules and operational needs.
