About the Role:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily textile manufacturing operations while leading subordinate supervisory staff and production teams. This role ensures that production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance are consistently met. The Production Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in workforce development, equipment coordination, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee daily production activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • Monitor workflow across assigned production lines.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
  • Generate and review production reports, KPIs, and operational metrics as required by management.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support new product introductions, process changes, and equipment start-ups.
  • Supervise and coordinate the efforts of production staff.
  • Assign work, manage staffing levels, approve timekeeping, and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Lead, train, coach, and motivate employees to meet performance, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and administer corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure all department personnel are informed of procedural, policy, or process changes.
  • Conduct departmental meetings and attend staff meetings as required.
  • Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), company regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and plant safety programs.
  • Monitor department conditions to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Conduct safety talks, incident investigations, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance department to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and downtime is minimized.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (output, efficiency, scrap, downtime, labor utilization).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and root cause analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, training effectiveness, and operational performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a textile or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-assembly processes, including cutting, marking, screen printing, and component preparation.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and maintaining high-quality production standards.
  • Proficiency with production management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
